LTC Eric P. Shirley was the Army ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Arizona in 1993. Commissioned in the Regular Army as a Quartermaster Corps Officer, he has served in a variety of command and staff positions to include Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Detachment Commander at Fort Lewis, WA. Commander, Alpha Company 704th Division Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division Fort Hood Texas. He has also served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Dallas, TX. He has served as the Division Logistics Planner for the 1st Cavalry Division and most recently as the Support Operations Officer 1st Brigade Combat Team, during the Division’s 15 month deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. LTC Shirley is a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic and Advanced Courses at Fort Lee, VA, Command and General Staff Officer’s College and the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), Fort Leavenworth, KS. He is also a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (third award) and is qualified as an Army Parachutist. Douglas Reinsch

LTC Douglas Reinsch
graduated from Lincoln University in 1990. He was
commissioned an Engineer Lieutenant and upon graduation from
OBC at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1991, went to Ranger and Airborne
courses. His first duty station was Platoon Leader, 2nd
EN BN, 50th EN CO in Korea. Since then, he has
been assigned as Executive Officer and Operations Officer at
Ft Leonard Wood and a part of the US Army Reserve. LTC
Reinsch has also completed the Sapper Leaders course, Air
Assault Course, Engineer Officer Advanced Course, Combined
Arms and Services Staff School, and Command and General
Staff College. He has earned the Army Service Ribbon,
National Defense Service Medal with BSS, Korean Defense
Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf
Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf
Clusters, and the Meritorious Service Medal.
LTC Reinsch has recently returned from deployment to Iraq as Construction Development Center Chief, J-7, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq. At Truman, LTC Reinsch is a Senior Military Science Instructor who instructs the MS 200 class and plans training events. LTC Reinsch has three children, Libby, Ellie, and Lucas, and resides with his wife, Angie, in Kirksville, MO. |

CPT Bill Gardner completed
the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School and
received his commission as an Infantry officer in 1994. After
serving as a rifle platoon leader, he then served as the
Battalion Mortar Platoon leader for two years. After being
promoted to Captain in 2003, he served as the BN Maintenance
Officer, Headquarters Company Commander and then became the
Battery Commander of B Btry, 2nd/123rd
Field Artillery. During Operation Enduring Freedom, he served
as the Fire Support Officer for 7th Special Forces
Group in Afghanistan.
CPT Gardner is a graduate of Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services and Staff School, Small Arms Master Gunner Course, and Air Assault School. He is also a recipient of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. CPT Gardner graduated from Western Illinois University, with a Master of Science in Business Education in 1989. He is married to Tamara and has two children, Joel, 18, and Mattison, 11. |
MSG James A. Grove
Master Sergeant James A. Grove graduated from One Station Unit
Training as an Artillery Forward Observer at Ft. Sill OK in 1986. He
has served as an Artillery Forward Observer, Assistant Brigade Fire
Support NCO, and Targeting NCO at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He has
also served as a Company Fire Support Sergeant at Camp Greaves
Korea, a Troop Fire Support Sergeant at FT. Polk LA, as well as a
Combat Observation Lasing Team (COLT) Chief, Company Fire Support
Team Chief, COLT Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Fire Support NCO and
First Sergeant at Fort Lewis WA and as First Sergeant and Operation
Sergeant Major at Vilseck Germany.
Master Sergeant Grove served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom Three and Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-08. He is a graduate of Primary Leadership and Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course and the Army Battle Staff Course. Awards include the Bronze Star Medal (second award), the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal (third award), the Army Commendation Medal (fourth award), the Army Air Assault Badge and Combat Action Badge. |

MSG David Beach
Military Science Instructor

Master Sergeant David D. Beach
graduated from One Station Unit Training as a Combat Engineer in
1988. He has served as an Armored Personnel Carrier Driver, Track
Commander and Team Leader with the 8th Engineers at Fort
Hood, Texas. He has also served with Combat Engineers in the 81st
and 89th Reserve Commands, as well as the 108th
Training Division and 1st Army. Master Sergeant Beach
served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom One.
He is also a graduate of Primary Leadership and Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Small Group Leader Instructor Course, and Observer-Controller/Trainer Course. Awards include the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Action Badge.
1LT Dan Hamlet

1LT Dan Hamlet Graduated Marine Corps Boot Camp in September 1990
and served 3 years as an Aviation Machinist Mate with MALS 39, Camp
Pendleton, CA and a year with MALS 36 in Okinawa, Japan.
He left the service, earned a BA in politics and an MBA in
Marketing from the University of Dallas and enjoyed a civilian
career for 7 years as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones in St
Louis. In 2006 he answered the call to put on a uniform again and in
May 2007 received his Reserve Commission at Officer Candidate
School, Fort Benning Georgia.
Since completion of Military Police OBC at Fort Leonard Wood
in February of 2007 he has held the positions of motor officer,
platoon leader, executive officer and rear detachment commander with
the 354th Military Police Company in St Louis, MO.
He is married to Jennifer, and has 3 children, Camden (7), Nora (5)
and Thomas (2).

2LT Christopher Wilson graduated and commissioned from Truman State University in August 2009. While in the Bulldog Battalion 2LT Wilson was a three year member of the Ranger Challenge Team, Bravo Team Ranger Challenge Captain for a year, a four year member of the TSU Honor Guard and Cannon Crew, Honor Guard and Cannon Crew Captain, served as the Cadet Battalion Commander his senior year, and was a two year Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) Cadet with the Det-1, 1438th MRBC National Guard unit in Kirksville, Mo. 2LT Wilson was one of 32 ROTC Cadets selected nationwide to attend a summer training course at the United States Military Academy in West Point, Ny. He completed the Air Assault School in Camp Rilea, Or and is a 2009 graduate of Warrior Forge at Ft. Lewis, Wa. He will start his Basic Officers Leadership Course B at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo in April 2010.

Carmen Barnes spent 4 years on active
duty with the Women's Army Corps from 1974-1978. She was stationed
in Hawaii with the Corps of Engineers. After her enlistment was
completed she became a civil service employee. She has been with the
federal government for 34 years. She started working with the ROTC
in May of 1993. |

Bev LaCost grew up in
central Illinois, completed public school in Shelbyville, IL,
attended Illinois State University, Normal, IL, Sparks Business
College, Shelbyville, IL and numerous courses with the Army ROTC.
She has been on the
Truman campus (formerly Northeast Missouri State) since 1973. Her
campus career began in the Career Planning as a receptionist/clerk.
In 1977 she moved to Military Science to work in supply and has seen
many changes. |

Sara grew up in the rural Kirksville area, attended public school in
Brashear, Missouri, and attended Northeast Missouri State University
(Truman State). She was employed at Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine (A.T.Still University) in 1985, for a number of
years, before taking time off to raise her family. She began
working on the Truman Campus in the Military Science Division in
2006 as a secretary.
She is married to Harold and they have three children, Jake, 17, Matt, 15, and Katie, 12. |
